About my classes
I’ve been a seeker of yoga since 2003, and I'm certified to teach through the Yoga Alliance. My classes explore all aspects of traditional yoga, and are organic, devotional and supportive in nature. The style of my classes ranges from restorative and gentle to vigorous and creative asana. They all emphasize awareness in the practice. I encourage students to examine themselves and their conditioning with humility and acceptance as a path to personal growth. My intention is to guide students to a harmonious union with themselves and the world in which we live.
The teachers that currently inspire my practice are:
Erich Schiffmann (Erichji!),
Paul Grilley,
Dharma Mittra, and
Andrey Lappa. Find out more about these wonderful teachers by visiting their websites. There is a wealth of information on these sites.
Erich has touched a place in my heart that has given my practice new life and breath. His open arms and compassion set a wonderful model for the teacher I aspire to be. After reading his book
Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving Into Stillness I decided I had to meet him. He had a way of explaining yoga that was like no other. I guess you could say it hit home for me.
In April of 2007, I was able to meet Erich in person. And since then, my practice & teaching haven't been the same.

My Yoga Journey
A lifelong search for happiness and contentment led me to try yoga in a local gym a few years ago. After a few classes I got a hunch that there was more to it than just the postures. In a quest to learn more, I dove into the yogic texts. Even though I thought I was learning about yoga, I quickly realized that I was actually learning about my Self...a topic I have struggled mightily with over the years.
Yoga helped me to overcome an eating disorder, self-image issues, and stress. More than that though, yoga helped me view myself in a more positive light and with greater compassion. Saying yoga changed my life doesn't even touch on how it has helped me
transform my life. In general, I'm a healthier and happier person by practicing yoga. But that's not all. Yoga is what
inspires my life and fuels my passions. For years I had looked for fulfillment outside of myself, but then it hit me: what I was looking for wasn’t separate or outside of me, but right there
inside. And by looking inside, I came to a remarkable revelation of my innermost truths. Through teaching I hope to inspire in others the same desire to look within. I am grateful to those that help me on my path – teachers, students and friends alike.
